the internet culture of making original characters has been intertwined in my blood. 2016-2017 fandom had me in a grip.
i still create now, not really because i find euphoria in the way i used to as a child, but mostly because i had created memories with these characters and felt like i had to make something with them.
whoevers reading this, if you feel the same way i feel, just know that you have to create not because you have to, but because you want to. you dont have to make your worlds politics or species, or their favorite cereal or pet before you make your comic/animation/something. you wont start that way. draw them in stupid memes. just start a shitty plot because youll find more exploration with your characters if you start rather preperation.
this is something ive barely learned and still learning!
to my younger self, my future self, the me writing and reading this right now, and the person reading this:
you do not have to create a world for your younger self. the younger self that was held back by general inexperience, procrastination and insecurity. you do not have to honor your past. you have to honor the you that is reading these words.
to find expierience is to expierience. you wont find that with the same thing every time. your art is not a life sentence. to live life is to fluctuate, and art is life.
